Earl D. Weiner

Earl Weiner is a retired partner of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where he specialized in corporate finance, and corporate governance and investment management law for over 48 years. He is currently an independent director of Alliance Bernstein complex of mutual funds. Among his public service activities; he serves as chairman of The Acting Company and Theater Development Fund, served as the Chairman of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden from 1998-2007, and as a board member and general counsel of the Municipal Art Society, Vice Chair of the board of The Brooklyn Hospital Center and trustee of Green-Wood Cemetery. Earl received his BA from, and was a trustee of Dickinson College, where as a freshman, he met his wife Gina. After serving as an officer in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1965, he earned his LLB from Yale University. His late wife, Gina Ingoglia Weiner, wrote and illustrated a column for children for the Garden, was cofounder of the BBG Florilegium Society, and wrote and illustrated The Tree Book for Kids and Their Grown-Ups, published by Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Earl is the recipient of the Joan Warburg Humanitarian Wards, and together with Gina, of the DeWitt Clinton Award, which is given for excellence in the arts, literature, preservation and historic research. Together, they have two children, Melissa and John and two grandchildren, David and Lily. .
